Government Security Officer

REQUIREMENTS: You must have a high school certificate or Senior Certificate, along with a Grade C Security Certificate from PSIRA.

You should also have at least 12 months of experience in security work.
You should be familiar with the Access to Public Premises and Vehicles Act, evacuation procedures, minimum information security standards, PSIRA procedures, Batho Pele Principles, Public Service Regulations Act, and the Labour Centre’s policies and procedures. You should have good verbal and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, problemsolving skills, listening skills, computer skills, planning and organizing skills, and analytical skills.

DUTIES: You will be responsible for controlling who enters and leaves the Labour Centre and the provincial office.

You will ensure that information and assets are protected within the Centre and the provincial office.
You will conduct security patrols of the building and offices to keep employees and clients safe. You will also carry out internal investigations and enforce security rules and regulations.
